Kwara fire service command gets new controller

The Federal Fire Service has announced the appointment of Assistant Controller of Fire, Ibrahim Sarafadeen, as the new State Controller of its Kwara State Command.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday in Ilorin by the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service, Kwara State Command, Jimoh Ibrahim.

According to the statement, Sarafadeen assumed office following the formal handover of leadership by the outgoing State Controller, Bakare Mary, during a ceremony attended by management officials, senior officers and other personnel of the command.

In her farewell remarks, Bakare expressed gratitude to God and the management of the Federal Fire Service for the opportunity to serve as the State Controller of the Kwara State Command, while appreciating officers and men of the command for their support throughout her tenure.

She urged personnel to extend the same level of cooperation to her successor and to continue to uphold discipline and professionalism.

Bakare said, “I thank Almighty God and the management of the Federal Fire Service for the opportunity to serve as the State Controller of the Kwara State Command.

“I also appreciate the Management Team, senior officers, officers and men of the command for their unwavering support and dedication throughout my tenure.

“I urge all personnel to extend the same cooperation to the new State Controller while upholding discipline and professionalism. I congratulate ACF Ibrahim Adisa Sarafadeen and wish him a successful tenure.”

Responding, Sarafadeen commended his predecessor for her leadership and contributions to the command, assuring officers and men that he would consolidate on the achievements recorded under her leadership.

“I appreciate my predecessor for her exemplary leadership and invaluable contributions to the command. I also commend the Management Team, senior officers, officers and men for their dedication and commitment to duty.

“I seek your continued support and cooperation as we work together to build on the achievements of the command. I remain committed to protecting lives and property across Kwara State,” he said.

According to the statement, Sarafadeen, an indigene of Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, enlisted in the Federal Fire Service on July 24, 2012.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has served in several strategic positions within the service before his appointment as the State Controller of the Kwara State Command.

The statement added that the handover ceremony featured the presentation of a citation to the outgoing State Controller, the handing over of the Service Flag and the signing of official handover documents to mark the successful transfer of leadership.
