Authorities in Chambers County, Alabama, say a man accused of killing a woman died from a heart attack while allegedly trying to dispose of her body.
According to officials, 41-year-old Jessica Folds of Lanett, Alabama, and 44-year-old Daniel Robbins of Macon, Georgia, were both found dead on June 10 in a wooded area off County Road 86.
Investigators allege that Robbins strangled Folds to death before transporting her body to a remote location in an attempt to hide the crime.
Authorities believe the wooded area was used to dump the body and was not the location where the killing took place.
The district attorney and autopsy findings indicate that Robbins died from a heart attack while allegedly disposing of Folds’ body. Officials said he had a preexisting heart condition that may have contributed to the fatal medical emergency.
Investigators confirmed that the two deaths had different causes. Folds’ death has been classified as a homicide, while Robbins’ death was ruled a natural cardiac event.
The FBI, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and other authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
