Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has revealed that she lost ₦5 million after placing her first-ever football bet, describing the experience as one she never wants to repeat.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared her disappointment, saying the huge loss has completely discouraged her from sports betting.
According to Destiny, the emotional stress and anxiety she experienced while waiting for the outcome of the bet were overwhelming.
She jokingly added that the experience had even made her lose interest in watching football.
“First time betting and I lost. Will never try it again. My ₦5M gone. In fact, I’m done watching football. Anxiety almost killed me,” she wrote.
Her revelation has since sparked reactions on social media, with many fans sympathizing with her loss while others used the opportunity to warn against the risks associated with gambling. Some also praised the actress for openly sharing her experience, hoping it would serve as a lesson to others considering betting.
