Onanuga Slams Peter Obi Over Remarks on Obasanjo, Yar’Adua

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has described the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as clueless.

Onanuga was reacting to an interview in which Obi recounted how he reached out to former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and the late Musa Yar’Adua during some critical situations while he was governor of Anambra State, noting that both former presidents responded promptly to his calls.

Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Obi said that aside from security issues, he once had a case of erosion in a place called Umuchiyiani in Ekulobia, recalling that his phone rang around 2am with news that a house had collapsed into the erosion site.

He said he left his base in Awka and drove to the site at that hour, calling Obasanjo from there to inform him that a building had fallen following erosion in a village, adding that the former president answered his call at 2am.

He also said that during one of the most serious robbery incidents he experienced, he called on President Yar’Adua, who kept checking on him daily until the situation was resolved.

Reacting to the interview, Onanuga posted on social media that Obi was clueless then and remains clueless now.
