"Her dress is not a Yes. Stop victim blaming" – Nigerian woman shares photo showing her outfit to birthday party as a ‘100% virgin’

A Nigerian mother of two, Wanda Adu, has said that a woman’s choice of dressing doesn’t justify r@pe or warrant any form of victim blaming.

She stated this while condemning those judging late Favour Agbro, over her choice of clothing and lifestyle, while blaming her for meeting her abuser at a hotel.

20-year-old Favour took her own life after she was allegedly r@ped by an Asaba-based content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as ‘Odogwu of Asaaba’

Ogbonna, 40, was said to have invited the victim, a nursing student, to Asaba under the pretext of mentoring her in content creation.

He allegedly lured her to his hotel room, where he r@ped her.

Traumatised by the alleged assault, Favour recorded a video detailing her ordeal before consuming insecticide.

Favour, who revealed that she was a virgin before the alleged assault, passed away while receiving treatment.

Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, July 20, 2026, Ms Adu, shared a throwback photo showing the outfit she wore to a friend’s birthday party as a virgin.

According to her, she didn’t dress for attention, and no one deserves to be assaulted regardless of what they wear.

“Her DRESS IS NOT A YES!!! This was me in 100L at the university.  I attended a friend’s birthday party at night. I was 100% a V!RG€€N,” she wrote.

“This post for those people judging late Favour who committed s¥!c!d£ after she was gr@ped by Odogwu of Asaba.  I didn’t dress this way because I  was h0rn¥ or looking for a gr@pist’s attention.

“I also wasn’t gr@ped that year or night.  The one who gr@ped me did not know me at this time. Y’all need to stop judging people by their sense of fashion. I definitely dressed for the occasion that night and it was okay.

“No one, male or female should justify GR@PE!!! #stopviolenceagainstwomen #StopvictimBlaming #stopvictimshaming #womensrights #ProtectOurChildren #protectthegirl.”
