Remi Tinubu Warns Nigerian Youth Against Settling For Small Wins

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, has urged young people to stay focused on reaching bigger achievement, warning them against growing comfortable with minor accomplishments.

She provided the advise on Friday when receiving the leadership of the All Progressives Congress National Youth Wing at the State House in Abuja, where she also gifted nine vans to the party’s youth leaders to help with their operations.

According to a statement released by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady encouraged the youths to embrace diligence, patience, integrity and hard work as essential virtues for success.

She said God always knows people’s needs, noting that young people often fail to understand this because they are always in a hurry, adding that she was teaching them how to embrace contentment rather than a beggarly attitude.

Drawing a lesson from the eagle, the First Lady urged the youths to develop resilience and chart their own paths in life, explaining that when an eagle sees a storm, it laughs at it and finds a way to fly above it, adding that young people should adopt the same mentality by carving their own paths rather than desiring something simply because someone else has it.

Senator Tinubu also commended the APC youth leadership for working in unity to strengthen the party’s activities, particularly at the grassroots, urging them to continue projecting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

She said that as one of the arms of the ruling party, carrying the mandate of the Renewed Hope Agenda, its members and leaders must show resilience and deep commitment to building a future rooted in hope.

To support the youth wing’s operations, the First Lady presented nine buses to the APC National Youth Leader, Deputy National Youth Leader, zonal leaders and the Federal Capital Territory leadership for use during party activities and community service.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, thanked the First Lady for the donation, saying it would strengthen the youth wing’s outreach ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said they remain committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that the gesture would enhance their capacity to reach out to Nigerians, not just for electoral mobilisation but also to improve people’s lives.

He said that from that moment, they consider themselves “mummy’s men” for Asiwaju, pledging to set up structures to run campaigns across the 36 states of the federation.

Expressing gratitude for the gesture, he said the First Lady had “raised boys to men,” noting that many of them arrived without vehicles but were leaving with brand new buses, expressing deep appreciation to her.
