Tinubu Appoints Ayo Fayose REA Board Chairman in Major Shake-Up

President Bola Tinubu has named former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), alongside 25 other appointments spanning 10 federal government agencies and commissions.
The appointments were disclosed in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said they take immediate effect.
The statement noted that President Tinubu had unveiled 26 fresh appointments across the agencies, with Fayose emerging as REA board chairman while Major General Junaid Bindawa was named chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
It further stated that Fayose would head the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors, while the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three executive directors would continue serving on the board.
According to the statement, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who had earlier been appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, has now been redeployed to the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission as secretary.
Other appointees named include Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/CEO of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, alongside Engineer Julius Oloro, who was appointed CEO of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation.
President Tinubu also reconstituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission and made fresh appointments to the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, as well as the Federal Housing Authority.
