Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer, Asamoah Gyan, has been spotted taking on a hands-on coaching role, offering sharp tactical advice to a group of young footballers during a training session that has since gone viral.
In the clip, Gyan is seen pointing and instructing players directly, at one point telling them firmly, “Use your brain sometimes. We can’t tell you everything.”
The former Sunderland AFC and Al Ain FC striker, who holds a UEFA B coaching licence, has previously stepped in to guide sessions at Greater Accra Division 3 side Great Somas FC, briefly interrupting training to make tactical and technical adjustments.
Asamoah Gyan, who is Chief Executive of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation’s youth football initiatives and a co-owner and Honorary President of Great Somas Soccer Academy, has been increasingly visible in grassroots football circles, blending his playing legacy with growing involvement in developing the next generation of Ghanaian talent.
His hands-on approach continues to fuel speculation about a full transition into coaching, with fans eager to see Ghana’s record scorer take his tactical eye from the pitch to the touchline on a permanent basis.
