4 Qur'anic School Pupils Die in Kano After Suspected Food Poisoning

Four pupils from a Qur’anic instruction school in Kano d!ed following consumption of food suspected to have been contaminated.
The National Chairman of the Tsangaya Media Network confirmed the incident on Monday.
The affected students attended Malam Iliyasu Mai Tsangaya, located in Kadage Sharifai, Ungoggo Local Government Area.
They were transferred to Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after suspected food poisoning and d!ed at the facility on Sunday night, August 16, 2026.
The statement provided did not specify the nature of the food consumed or identify the substance suspected of causing the poisoning, leaving precise circumstances surrounding the d£aths unclear.
The remains were subsequently interred following approval from the District Head and the Divisional Police Officer.
Police have not issued an official statement regarding the incident as of publication.
