âNigerian doctors need to stop making patients do unnecessary tests just to spend moneyâ â Lady complains

A lady has called out some Nigerian doctors, accusing them of allegedly requesting unnecessary medical tests that leave patients spending money they don’t need to spend.
In a video, she claimed she once visited a hospital over chest pain and was allegedly told she had a heart problem. According to her, the doctor asked her to carry out four expensive tests.
She said she later sought a second opinion from another consultant in the same hospital, who reviewed her medical history and told her the tests were unnecessary, explaining that her chest pain was likely caused by muscle strain from her active lifestyle.
The lady also alleged that the same doctor recommended the exact four tests to another patient that same day. She added that she once heard from a doctor that some hospitals expect doctors to refer patients for laboratory tests to generate revenue.
She clarified that she was not referring to doctors who request tests to make accurate diagnoses, but those who allegedly ask for unnecessary investigations.
