Bandits k!ll Kaduna businessman after collecting N12m ransom, seize his son


Bandits have k!lled a businessman, Mallam Auwal in Kaduna State despite receiving N12 million ransom.
Auwal was abducted from his home in Hayin Babban Saura Police Quarters.
It was gathered that after his family scrambled to raise the sum demanded for his release, the kidnappers allegedly k!lled him and claimed they had buried his body.
It was further learnt that the bandits seized Auwal’s son, who personally delivered the ransom to secure his father’s freedom.
A Salatul Gha’ib (funeral prayer in absentia) was held for Mallam Auwal at Murtala Square in Kaduna on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Family members, neighbours and community leaders gathered to pray for the deceased and to seek divine intervention for the safe return of his son, who is still being held captive.
