Breaking: Osun 2026: Tight contest as Oyebamiji takes Atakumosa East LGA

It was a tight contest in Atakumosa East Local Government Area as Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress defeated the incumbent and candidate of Accord, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State in the area.

While Oyebamiji scored 9,936 votes out of the 19,257 that cast their votes, Adeleke came in second in the LGA with 7,872 votes.

The results of the poll were announced by the Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, in the early hours of Sunday.

Ogunwole, who is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, announced the results at the State Collation Centre in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
