How I want to be remembered in Nasarawa — Gov. Sule + Video

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said he wants to be remembered for transforming the state and bringing it “out of the woods” before his tenure ends in May 2027.

He said his greatest legacy would be transforming the state into one that is more united, industrialised, and attractive to investors.

Sule stated this on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s Day Break, while reflecting on his administration’s achievements and what he hopes to leave behind.

The governor described Nasarawa as a “diamond in the rough” when he assumed office, saying his administration had worked to unlock the state’s potential and improve its visibility.

“I want to be remembered for bringing the state out of the woods. It is a diamond in the rough; we have now washed the diamond, and the people can see the diamond clearly,” he said.

According to Sule, his administration had also succeeded in fostering greater unity across the state while reducing the influence of opposition political parties.

“The state is now more seen. The state is now more united. We have reduced the opposition to minimal. Therefore, we have unified the state,” he said.

The governor explained that most of the political disagreements in the state now occurred within the ruling party, rather than between the ruling All Progressives Congress and opposition parties in the state.

“Our opposition now is really within our own party. If we have opposition, it’s maybe some people who feel shortchanged or don’t feel happy that they lost elections; that they are fighting, but no opposition from outside,” Sule said.

He also listed industrialisation and the state’s economic prospects among the achievements he hopes will define his administration.

“So the state is more united, it’s more industrialized, it has more prospects. 

“The prospects are seen. Those are the things that I want to remember for,” the governor added.
