Kwankwaso Backs Bishops Over Nigeria Economic And Security Concerns

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Kano State Governor and head of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has praised the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for speaking out against the country’s deteriorating economic and security condition.

Kwankwaso commended the bishops’ stance as an act of courage and patriotism, stating that their concerns reflected the realities experienced by millions of Nigerians.

He stated that the clerics’ concerns, such as increased living costs, worsening insecurity, diminishing public confidence, and widespread hardship, were not partisan or isolated, but rather represented the daily experiences of residents across the country.

According to him, despite Nigeria’s abundant people and natural resources, many Nigerians continue to face economic hardship, unemployment, insecurity, limited access to excellent education and healthcare, and dwindling possibilities.

Kwankwaso emphasized that those in positions of leadership must respond quickly, honestly, and with a focus on the needs of the people.

He also urged Nigerians to maintain constructive engagement with the Federal Government and leaders at all levels, arguing for good governance, accountability, and policies that prioritise citizens’ security, welfare, and prosperity.

“It is through such collective commitment and responsible leadership that we can build a more peaceful, united, and prosperous Nigeria,” he stated.

Kwankwaso concluded by praying for the country’s progress, saying, “May Almighty Allah continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
