Singer Shawn Mendes goes Instagram official with girlfriend Bruna Marquezine

Singer Shawn Mendes has publicly confirmed his relationship with Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine, celebrating her 31st birthday with a heartfelt message and videos shared on Instagram.

In the birthday tribute, Mendes described Marquezine as someone who has had a profound impact on his life. He said: “A light and a mãe in every room you walk into.”

He continued: “Not to be tooooo sappy but you’ve truly changed my life and I am so so grateful for you.” Mendes also declared his love in Portuguese, writing: “Eu te amo muito muito muitoo.” The phrase translates to, “I love you so, so, so much.”

Alongside the message, Mendes shared videos of Marquezine celebrating her birthday at Casa Amarela Providência, a cultural, educational and arts centre in Brazil. The clips showed children welcoming the actress with cheers before singing, dancing and celebrating with her. Mendes also appeared smiling and interacting with the children. The post marks the couple’s first public confirmation of their relationship after months of speculation.

Rumours that Mendes and Marquezine were dating first emerged in December, and the pair have since been spotted together in both the United States and Brazil. In March, they were photographed showing affection during a beach outing in Brazil.

Mendes previously dated singer Camila Cabello on and off between 2019 and 2023. He was also briefly linked to singer Sabrina Carpenter in early 2023 before briefly reconciling with Cabello.
