Moment billioniare businesman, Tony Elumelu, cautioned young lady who addressed him by his first name at a public function

A video showing the moment, billionaire businessman, Tony Elumelu, cautioned a young lady who addressed him by his first name, Tony, at a public function, has made the rounds on social media.

The businessman and the young lady were both at a conference. While addressing the guests, the businessman apparently opened the floor for questions. The young lady stood up, and as she was about to ask her question, said

‘’Good morning Tony” she said

The businessman was startled by this and immediately asked if she said ‘’Toyin”

The young lady responded ‘’I said, ‘Good morning Tony’.

Responding, Mr Elumemlu said she will not call him Tony. He says he is not one of those men who subscribe to the ‘Oyibo’ culture and gave her ways in which she can respectfully address him

‘’No, you wouldn’t call me Tony. I am not one of those…You call me Mr Elumelu or TOE or Chairman. I don’t subscribe to that kind of Oyibo life”
