Newlywed woman remanded in Kano for allegedly k!lling her husband after he refused to let her attend a party


A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Kano State has remanded a newlywed woman, Khadija Sa’idu, in a correctional facility over alleged culpable homicide following the d3ath of her husband, Malam Auwal Adam.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Haulatu Magaji Kankarofi, ordered that the suspect be remanded after she was arraigned by the police for allegedly st@bbing her husband in the chest and neck at his residence.
The suspect, a resident of Hayin Lawal, Rimin Kebe, in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state, was alleged to have attacked her husband following a disagreement over her request to attend a party.
According to the facts presented before the court, Khadija had sought her husband’s permission to attend a social gathering, but he reportedly refused to allow her to go.
The prosecution alleged that following the disagreement, the suspect st@bbed her husband in the chest while he was asleep on a couch.
The court was informed that Auwal was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where doctors reportedly confirmed his death from injuries sustained during the alleged attack.
During Thursday’s proceedings, the prosecutor told the court that the case file was awaiting legal advice from the state counsel to determine the next step.
The court adjourned the case until September 8 for further mention.
