O’ Level Upload: JAMB ends CBT centre visits, unveils home-based system + Step-by-step guide

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a home-based O’Level result upload system, eliminating the requirement for candidates to physically visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to submit their results.

The new service, which initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), aimed at reducing candidates’ dependence on Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for O’Level result uploads, particularly during periods of high patronage.

Under the arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before the results are uploaded to their profiles.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s acting director of public affairs and protocol, disclosed the development in a statement released on Monday, August 25, 2026.

According to the statement, the initiative was designed to make the Board’s services easier, faster, safer and more convenient while eliminating challenges associated with the traditional manual upload process.

It further noted that the system will also address cases involving misplaced or mixed-up paper certificates, submission of unverified or fraudulent results, as well as errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.

With the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results can now be checked against records held by the issuing bodies before being downloaded into their JAMB profiles.

The Board said the innovation formed part of its renewed customer-focused service delivery agenda under its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, with technology being deployed to reduce unnecessary physical visits, queues and paperwork.

How to verify, upload results

JAMB explained that candidates would first be required to obtain a result verification code by visiting the designated result verification portal.

Candidates are expected to provide their National Identification Number, NIN, select the number of O’Level sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies, and provide their email address and GSM number before making payment through the available payment gateway.

After payment, candidates will provide their examination details, including examination number, examination series and examination year.

Upon successful verification, a Verification Code will be issued to the candidate.

At the second stage, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.

JAMB said the verified result would subsequently be uploaded, with candidates receiving notification confirming the submission.

Candidates with two O’Level sittings are required to log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

After entering the Verification Code, the two verified results will be displayed, enabling candidates to select the required subjects.

The Board said candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results.”

A notification will be sent to candidates upon successful completion of the upload.

JAMB said the new verification service would provide a particularly useful alternative during periods when CBT centres experience heavy patronage, long queues or network-related difficulties.

The Board said it would continue to strengthen collaboration with examination bodies and other government agencies while deploying technology to simplify its processes and improve the overall candidate experience.

It said the development underscored its determination to place candidate convenience and efficient service delivery at the heart of its operations.

The latest innovation marks another step in JAMB’s digital transformation, moving a process that previously required physical intervention towards a technology-driven system that allows candidates to complete critical admission-related processes remotely.
