Osun 2026: Oyetola urges APC members to unite, mobilise voters for candidate

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, has appealed to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and mobilise voters ahead of Saturday’s Osun governorship election.
This is contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the Minister, Dr Bolaji Akinola, on Wednesday in Osogbo.
According to the statement, Oyetola made the remarks in Inisa, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun, while addressing APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters during an interactive meeting ahead of the election.
The minister urged party supporters to participate actively in the electoral process and remain vigilant against vote manipulation and other electoral malpractices.
Oyetola, however, expressed concern over the state of infrastructure, particularly roads, saying residents across Osun deserved equitable access to government projects and essential public services, regardless of their locality.
He said despite the substantial federal allocations accruing to the state over the past three years, roads across the state remained in bad condition.
Oyetola assured that the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would ensure judicious use of the state’s resources and balanced development across all parts of the state if elected.
He said an Oyebamiji-led administration would prioritise the rehabilitation and construction of roads, revitalisation of the education sector and strengthening of primary healthcare, while improving other essential services across the state.
The minister also accused members of the Accord Party of attacking APC members and subsequently portraying themselves as victims.
Oyetola acknowledged the endorsement of the APC candidate by a former governor of the state, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun and other political leaders in the local government.
He expressed confidence that Oyebamiji would emerge victorious at the polls, stating that a significant number of residents had become dissatisfied with the performance of the incumbent administration.
The APC leader therefore called on party members to translate their support into votes, stressing the importance of strong voter turnout.
