The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Ajibola Basiru, says the August 15 Osun governorship election is critical to the future of the state, urging party members to brace up.
Basiru stated this in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Osogbo.
According to the statement, the APC scribe spoke during a high-level strategic meeting held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja ahead of the election.
He urged party leaders in the state to intensify mobilisation efforts, remain united and work tirelessly to secure victory for the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Basiru also charged party faithful and supporters to remain focused, law-abiding and committed to democratic values, while encouraging eligible voters to participate peacefully in the poll.
The statement added that party leaders at the meeting reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the APC and expressed confidence in its growing acceptance across the state.
It noted that the leadership stressed that its experience, capacity and collective resolve would be fully deployed to ensure a successful, issue-based and peaceful campaign.
According to the statement, the meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by stakeholders to deliver victory for the APC and its governorship candidate.
It expressed optimism that Osun is poised for a new era of purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, sustainable development and shared prosperity under Oyebamiji.
The statement further said the meeting reviewed the party’s preparedness for the election and deliberated on strategies to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, enhance voter engagement, consolidate party unity and ensure a coordinated campaign across all local government areas and wards in the state.
