Peter âMr Pâ Okoye backs lawyerâs explanation of the ongoing lawsuit against Jude Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye

Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has endorsed a legal explanation circulating online regarding the ongoing criminal case involving his elder brother, Jude Okoye, and Jude’s wife, Ifeoma Okoye.
Reacting to the post, Peter wrote, “exactly 100,” signaling his agreement with the legal interpretation of the case. The lawyer’s explanation argues that the matter before the court is a criminal prosecution instituted by the Federal Government through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), rather than a personal lawsuit between Peter and Jude.
According to the explanation, Peter’s role is that of a prosecution witness after submitting a petition that led to an EFCC investigation. It contends that once the anti-graft agency completed its investigation and filed charges, the case became one between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the defendants.
The commentary also references proceedings before the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, where a prosecution witness reportedly testified that Jude Okoye’s wife owns 800,000 shares in Northside Music Limited. During the hearing, the defence sought to tender documents attached to the original petition submitted to the EFCC, arguing that they were crucial to the defence.
However, the prosecution objected to the admissibility of the documents. The court subsequently ruled that the documents did not meet the legal requirements for admissibility and rejected them.
The lawyer further argued that public discussion has blurred the distinction between civil and criminal proceedings, maintaining that Peter is not prosecuting his brother personally but is participating in the case as a witness for the prosecution.
Peter’s brief response, “exactly 100,” appeared to affirm this interpretation of the ongoing proceedings. The criminal case against Jude Okoye and his co-defendant remains before the court, and the allegations are yet to be finally determined.
