Ronke Oshodi Oke Reveals Why She Supports Politicians

Veteran Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has made clear that if people ever see her supporting a politician, it’s not because she believes in them but because she needs money to survive.

Speaking on the Africa A-List digital talk show, she told her fans not to mistake any political backing for genuine loyalty.

She said, if you see her standing behind a politician, just know she’s looking for something to put food on her table.

She asked people to understand and not criticise her for it.

During the same interview, Ronke opened up about a serious health battle she went through.

She spent as much as N800,000 every month on drugs to manage her condition.

She credited God, Lagos political figure MC Oluomo and her colleagues in the entertainment industry for keeping her alive during that difficult period.

The actress revealed an unexpected gesture from fellow actress Sotayo, with whom she hadn’t spoken in five to six years after they had a disagreement.

But when Sotayo heard Ronke was ill, she sent her N150,000 to help.

Despite this kindness, the two haven’t fully reconciled.

They still avoid greeting each other when they meet at parties or events.
