Ruger Breaks Silence After Shocking Death Wish

Nigerian musician Ruger has responded sarcastically after a social media user publicly wished him dead, attributing his recent music and online activity to deteriorating her mental health.

The controversy emerged when the anonymised social media user posted criticism of what she characterised as misogynistic and homophobic messaging in his recent musical output and social media activity.

The user referenced a post reportedly made by Ruger stating: “POV: You are the Afrobeats artist to make a song for the lesbian community. I love them.”

She elaborated that she had previously blocked Ruger on social media but unblocked him after a friend shared his content.

She concluded her remarks in Nigerian Pidgin, stating that only Ruger’s d£@th would improve her psychological wellbeing.

Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo, shared the social media video online with dismissive mockery.

Rather than engaging with her substantive criticisms, he redirected commentary toward her physical appearance and dietary habits.

He posted that he considered the death wish a reciprocal exchange warranting his disregard.
