A Nigerian mother has appealed for help after allegedly being forced to leave her matrimonial home by her husband with their two children.
The woman, identified as Grace from Ondo State, shared her emotional story while seeking financial assistance to secure accommodation and provide for her children.
Grace said she got married in 2023 and later welcomed her first child, a boy whom she described as having a condition that requires special care.
According to her, her husband allegedly rejected the boy because of his condition and would call him different names. She claimed the situation resulted in frequent disagreements between the couple.
“My husband does not like him. He calls him different names. There will always be a fight inside the house because he is always fighting me,” she said
Grace explained that she later had a second child, a girl, hoping that having another baby would improve the situation in her marriage.
However, she alleged that her husband was also unhappy because their second child was a girl.
“So I decided to have another baby for him. Maybe I will be okay. This is my second baby. She is a girl. My husband does not like her either because she is a girl,” she recounted.
According to Grace, the marriage eventually broke down, and her husband allegedly asked her to leave the home with the children on April 20, 2026.
“He said there was no point in getting married again. I should leave,” she claimed.
She said she has since been staying temporarily with a friend but has been given only a few more days to find alternative accommodation.
The mother expressed concern about where she and her children would go, particularly because her first child requires special care.
“My people, I’m not like this before. I’m very fine and beautiful but marriage turned me to this,” she said.
She appealed to members of the public for financial assistance to secure a place to live and cater for her children.
“I don’t know where to go with my children. Please. Please help us,” she pleaded.
“I really need help. Just to get an accommodation. I need financial support so I can take care of my children. I’m a mother. I can do anything because of my children.”
Her emotional appeal has since attracted attention online, with many expressing concern about the welfare of Grace and her two children.
