Suspected Gun Runner Disappears After Collecting ₦95m From Bandit Leader

A suspected gun courier disappeared after promising to purchase and deliver top-notch weapons in exchange for ₦95 million from a bandit commander in Katsina State.

According to reports, the alleged occurrence took place in Matazu Local Government Area, where the intermediary allegedly got the money before disappearing without delivering the guns.

Because of the peculiar circumstances surrounding the botched arms purchase, the accusation has received a lot of attention online.

The legislator for the Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Aliyu, also referred to as General, revealed the development in an interview with NTA Hausa.

He claims that the suspect has not been seen since obtaining the funds.

Aliyu claimed that after the trade failed, a feared bandit leader known as Kachalla Maha withdrew from existing peace agreements, linking the incident to growing tension along the Matazu axis.

He added that since then, the bandit faction has increased pressure on neighboring towns by levying high taxes and extorting cattle from weak villages, exacerbating security issues in the region.
