Tinubu presides over FEC as council mourns former ministers

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting was preceded by a minute of silence in honour of two former ministers who recently passed away, Abubakar Alhaji, former Minister of Finance, and Prof. Turner Isoun, former Minister of Science and Technology.
Mr Alhaji served as Minister of Finance from 1990 to 1991 under the military administration of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida while Isoun served as Minister of Science and Technology from 2000 to 2007 under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The FEC meeting began with the national anthem after Tinubu arrived at the Council Chamber at 2:30 p.m. to chair the session.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Didi Walson-Jack; and National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu.
Others included Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; ministers, presidential aides and heads of government agencies.
The last FEC meeting was held on June 29.
