‘Wrong person imprisoned. Truth will surely come out’ â Simon Ekpa speaks on his sentencing by Finland court

Self-acclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, BRGIE, Simon Ekpa has expressed belief that his sentence by the Finland court would be reversed.
Last year, the secessionist was convicted of terrorism-related offenses linking him to the k!llings in the Southeastern part of Nigeria. On September 1, 2025, he was sentenced to six years in prison by a Finnish district court.
However, speaking with some Biafra agitators during his appeal hearing proceedings on Thursday, August 6, Ekpa said the wrong person is being imprisoned and the truth will soon surface.
He said, “I’m very confident that the truth is going to come out. They will know that the wrong person has been imprisoned.”
