Man City beat Tottenham to £60m deal for Everton star 

Manchester City have agreed a £60 million deal with Everton for Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye as Enzo Maresca continues to reshape his attacking options.

The 26-year-old forward is expected to undergo his medical on Tuesday after being given permission by Everton to travel, with a further £5 million potentially due in performance-related add-ons.

According to ESPN, City will pay an initial £60 million for Ndiaye as the club move to strengthen their attack ahead of the new campaign.

The agreement comes after City suffered a setback in their attempt to sign Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo.

Liverpool rejected an approach from Maresca’s side for the Dutchman, prompting the club to turn their attention to alternative attacking targets.

City then accelerated their pursuit of Ndiaye and have beaten Premier League rivals Tottenham to his signature after Spurs had also been monitoring the Senegalese forward.

Ndiaye’s arrival is expected to add quality to a City attack that has undergone significant changes during the summer.

Savinho and Omar Marmoush have both completed permanent moves to Tottenham, leaving Maresca with gaps to fill in his forward line.

City have already moved to address those departures with the signing of Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras for £32 million.

Ndiaye is now expected to become another major addition as City continue their squad reshaping ahead of the new season.
