“After 2 years”- Woman refuses to bear husband’s surname, declined offer abroad
A Nigerian woman who refused to bear her husband’s surname gets denied an overseas offer.
Details of the incident were shared by @OgodoSandra on X (formerly Twitter), who also attends the same church as the woman.
Woman Declines Husband’s Plea
Despite her husband pleading for her to apply for an international passport using his surname, she refused.
Eventually, he was offered an opportunity abroad and was permitted to travel with his wife.
Meanwhile, the wife begged her husband to process her passport and change her surname swiftly. However, he refused, resulting in the intervention of a clergyman.
Meanwhile, the tweet which has gone viral has been flooded with reactions from X users.

Joy Ikepfupa wrote, “This woman dey vex me. If you have a strong reason to not want to change your surname to your husband’s own, why is she suddenly now begging? I don’t trust her kind of person. The husband should not trust her either”.
Karinah added, “Good for her, normally she can still travel with him, but it’s not healthy at all, if she can do this in Nigeria, imagine what she can do outside Nigeria where the world is against Men”.
