Former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has broken his silence following the club’s Premier League title triumph, expressing joy that a new generation of players has finally delivered the league title he knows so well.
Henry, who was at the peak of his powers during Arsenal’s last title win 22 years ago, took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement.
He paid tribute to the current squad and noted that his own children were able to witness the club winning the league for the first time.
The title was confirmed on Tuesday night after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth, meaning Mikel Arteta’s side could no longer be overtaken at the top of the table.
Arsenal players will have the opportunity to lift the trophy in front of their fans when they face Crystal Palace on Sunday.
