Atletico open to Lookman sale

Atlético Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman just months after signing him from Atalanta in one of the winter window’s most significant deals, PidomNigeria Sports Extra reports.
According to Fotospor, reports from Spain and Turkey indicate the club could sanction his departure for around €60m this summer.
The 28-year-old joined Diego Simeone’s side in February in a transfer worth approximately €35m plus add-ons, signing a contract until 2030.
Despite contributing four La Liga goals alongside strikes in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League, Lookman has reportedly struggled to adapt to Atlético’s demanding defensive structure, and Simeone is said to have backed the club’s decision to explore offers as part of a broader squad rebuild.
The development is expected to attract immediate attention from several Premier League clubs. Arsenal, where manager Mikel Arteta is believed to admire Lookman’s versatility across the attacking line, are among those monitoring developments.
Liverpool, who tracked the Nigerian during his time at Atalanta, are also linked, with his pressing intensity and pace seen as a natural fit for their system. Manchester United are a third English club watching the situation, given their desire for more reliable output from wide areas.
Outside England, Fenerbahçe are expected to revive their interest after previously coming close to signing Lookman before Atlético completed the deal in January, while Paris Saint-Germain are also said to remain interested.
In Italy, both Inter Milan and Juventus are admirers, though matching Atlético’s valuation and the player’s reported wage of around €6m net per season could prove difficult for Serie A sides.
Lookman, who famously scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final for Atalanta and registered 55 goals during his time in Bergamo, previously played in England for Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham and Leicester City.
