BNC, EBS seal strategic partnership to boost media reach in Edo

BENIN CITY — The Bendel Newspapers Corporation (BNC), publishers of The Observer titles, and the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening information dissemination and enhancing media collaboration in Edo State.

The partnership emerged following a courtesy visit by the management of BNC to the corporate headquarters of EBS in Benin City, where both organisations expressed commitment to a mutually beneficial working relationship.

Leading the BNC delegation was the General Manager, Hon. Peter Odiboh, who said the visit was part of efforts to seek collaboration with EBS in promoting the services and activities of both organisations to the public.

Odiboh stated that BNC had returned stronger and more resilient after a transition period experienced during the administration of the immediate past government in the state.

He explained that beyond publishing The Nigerian Observer titles, the corporation had expanded its operations to include printing and publishing of books, answer scripts for higher institutions, as well as other classified documents.

According to him, the partnership with EBS would provide an effective platform for wider dissemination of information and greater public awareness of the corporation’s services.

Responding, the Managing Director of EBS, Sulaiman Aledeh, commended the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, for revitalising BNC and restoring its operational strength.

Aledeh described BNC as a flagship institution in Nigeria’s newspaper industry, noting that the organisation had produced distinguished professionals who had made remarkable contributions to journalism practice in the country.

He also congratulated the BNC General Manager for facilitating the return of The Nigerian Observer to the newsstands,
expressing optimism that the renewed partnership between both organisations would further strengthen media development and public communication in the state.
