The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of two men and the recovery of a stolen Toyota Hummer bus.
The information was contained in a statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib.
According to the statement, the vehicle’s owner had reported the theft after parking the bus at the Yankari Express Motor Park in Bauchi and briefly stepping away to observe prayers at a nearby mosque within the terminal.
Acting on reliable intelligence, police operatives moved swiftly and intercepted the two suspects identified as Anas Yarima, 35, and Abubakar Adam, 53 along the Bauchi-Gombe highway, where the stolen vehicle was recovered from their possession.
The command disclosed that both suspects voluntarily admitted to the crime, revealing that they used a master key to gain entry into and drive off with the vehicle from the park.
Investigations are currently ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be formally charged in court once the process is concluded.
