Chaos on Lagos Expressway as Men Storm Woman Car in Shocking Viral Video
A video captured on the Lagos-Epe Expressway shows a group of men clinging to the roof and bonnet of a woman’s car, following her for approximately five minutes in an encounter that at one point nearly resulted in a collision with a motorcycle.
The woman recounted how the men surrounded her vehicle and aggressively demanded payment via Opay, solely on the basis that she was behind the wheel.
She described feeling trapped in the moment, torn between accelerating away from the situation or pulling over amid the surrounding chaos.
The incident sheds light on a broader pattern of harassment that female drivers in Lagos contend with on a regular basis.
The perpetrators, commonly referred to as agberos, are widely known to have ties to transport unions and frequently employ intimidation and extortion tactics against motorists. Women drivers appear to be particularly targeted.
The footage has reignited public calls for the government to take decisive action, whether through structured retraining programmes for these touts or their outright removal from the roads.
This is not the first time such demands have been made, as previous efforts to address the agbero menace have largely failed to produce lasting results.
Many are now urging authorities to move beyond half-measures and implement more effective solutions to protect road users from this form of organised harassment.
