FCCPC seals Ochacho Real Estate, TI’Bilon Construction offices
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed the Abuja offices of Ochacho Real Estate and TI’Bilon Construction and Facility Management Company over alleged non-compliance with regulatory directives and unresolved consumer complaints.
The enforcement action was carried out on Thursday following what the commission described as the companies’ continued refusal to comply with earlier notices issued regarding housing delivery obligations.
According to the FCCPC, the affected developers were directed to hand over housing units to customers who had fully paid for their properties but were yet to receive possession.
The commission said the action became necessary after both firms allegedly failed to address the complaints or fulfil their obligations to subscribers.
It added that the offices would remain sealed until the companies fully comply with the commission’s directives and resolve all outstanding issues with affected customers.
The FCCPC explained that the enforcement was carried out under Section 150(4) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018, which empowers the commission to take regulatory action against entities that fail to comply with its directives.
The agency has recently intensified enforcement efforts within the real estate sector amid increasing complaints from homebuyers over delayed or undelivered housing projects despite full payment.
