Group backs Okonkwo following NDC governorship primary

A political support group, Reality Is Here Movement, has expressed support for Dr. Chris Okonkwo following the governorship primary election of the National Democratic Congress, NDC.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Onwe Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, the group said its members observed what it described as significant support for Okonkwo during the primary election.

According to the statement, reports gathered by the group indicated that the governorship aspirant attracted support from delegates in several local government areas where voting was conducted.

The group stated that Okonkwo’s performance in the primary reflected confidence in his leadership qualities and vision.

“The outcome of the exercise shows the level of acceptance Dr. Okonkwo enjoys among party delegates and stakeholders,” the statement said.

Reality Is Here Movement further expressed optimism that the primary election would strengthen the party’s preparations ahead of the governorship election.

The group, however, acknowledged that the official declaration and ratification of the primary election results remain the responsibility of the appropriate organs of the party.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no independent confirmation of the figures cited by the group regarding the outcome of the primary election.
