Kano Announces Eid-el-Kabir School Holiday Schedule Across Public and Private Schools

The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the Eid-el-Kabir holiday for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Misbahu Yakasai.
According to the directive, boarding schools are to proceed on holiday from Saturday, May 23, 2026 and resume on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Day schools are to begin their break from Friday, May 22, 2026 and return on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Parents and guardians of boarding school students were specifically urged to pick up their children on the approved closing date and ensure they return promptly on the resumption date.
The Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Makoda, used the occasion to wish students, teachers, parents and the entire education community a peaceful and joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
