Mbah’s ‘Tomorrow Is Here’ agenda yielding results in Enugu — Nwaokobia

A good governance advocate, leadership trainer and public affairs commentator, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., has said that the administration of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is beginning to record measurable progress three years after assuming office.

In a statement marking the governor’s third anniversary in office, Nwaokobia said the administration’s “Tomorrow Is Here” agenda was translating into tangible developments across key sectors of the state.

According to him, the government has demonstrated commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth and institutional reforms, with visible outcomes impacting residents positively.

“Three years into the administration, there are visible indicators of progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare and security. While expectations remain high, the direction of governance suggests a deliberate effort to deliver on campaign promises,” he stated.

Nwaokobia noted that ongoing road construction and urban renewal projects in both urban and rural communities have improved connectivity and stimulated economic activities, particularly among traders and small-scale businesses.

He also commended the government’s investments in education, especially the Smart Green Schools initiative, which he described as a significant step towards modernising public education and preparing students for future economic opportunities.

On healthcare, he lauded the ongoing construction of 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state, saying the project has the potential to expand access to quality healthcare services at the grassroots.

The governance advocate further acknowledged efforts by the administration to strengthen security through investments in surveillance infrastructure and enhanced collaboration among security agencies.

According to him, the measures have contributed to a safer environment for residents and investors.

Speaking on the economy, Nwaokobia said policies aimed at attracting investments and encouraging private sector participation were gradually positioning Enugu State for sustainable growth.

“The emphasis on agriculture, small-scale enterprise development and internally generated revenue reflects an attempt to build a more sustainable economic base,” he said.

He added that the administration’s focus on rural development and social inclusion was helping to extend the benefits of governance to underserved communities across the state.

While commending the progress recorded so far, Nwaokobia noted that challenges remain, particularly within the broader national economic environment, and urged the government to sustain its reform agenda.

“The progress recorded so far is encouraging, but there is still a need for consistency and sustained implementation to fully realise the administration’s vision,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the coming years would be critical to consolidating existing gains and deepening reforms across all sectors of the state’s economy.
