NAF bombs terrorist hideouts in Adamawa, Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counterterrorism campaign in the North-East, launching coordinated air strikes on suspected terrorist enclaves in Adamawa and Borno states.

The operation, carried out on May 19 under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, targeted Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains following intelligence reports and surveillance missions that identified terrorist logistics hubs and gathering points.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodamethe, director of public relations and information said the strikes destroyed key logistics facilities and operational structures used by the insurgents, while several terrorists were neutralised during the attacks.

According to the statement, the missions were based on credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations that exposed terrorist hideouts and movement within the targeted locations.

Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, the chief of the air staff reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustained joint military operations aimed at restoring peace and dismantling terrorist networks across the country.

He stated that intelligence-driven air operations would continue against terrorist strongholds, logistics chains, and operational bases wherever they are found.

The latest offensive comes amid renewed military efforts to weaken insurgent activities in the North-East and prevent further attacks on communities in the region.
