The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Industrial Training Fund, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, has declared that Ondo State will replicate its support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections following the president’s performance in Akoko North East Local Government Area.

Ogun spoke after results showed Tinubu polled 10,048 votes across wards in Akoko North East, with the APC candidate recording the highest tally of 2,877 votes in Iyometa Ward 2.

According to results announced by Returning Officer Isaac Rotimi and supervised by INEC officer Olajide Adeyemi, Tinubu won in all wards announced.

His opponent, Mr. Osifo Osayamen Stanley, recorded no votes.

The breakdown shows Tinubu secured 1,078 votes in Edo Ward, 920 in Ekan, 435 in Ikado 1, 1,233 in Ikado 2, 914 in Ilepa 1, and 453 in Ilepa 2. Isowopo 1 delivered 398 votes, Isowopo 2 recorded 856 votes, Iyometa 1 produced 760 votes, while Iyometa 2 returned 2,877 votes. Oorun 1 delivered 685 votes, Oorun 2 recorded 812 votes, and Oyinmo Ward contributed 627 votes.

Reacting, Dr. Ogun said the outcome reflects the confidence Ondo people have in the Tinubu administration and the APC.

He expressed optimism that the federal government’s performance would further strengthen support for the party ahead of future elections.

“The people have demonstrated their belief in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. What happened here is a clear indication that Ondo State remains solidly behind the President and the APC,” he said.

Dr. Ogun also cited the appointment of three ministers from Ondo State and ongoing federal projects as evidence of the president’s commitment to inclusiveness and development.

He said the projects were improving infrastructure, boosting economic activity, and strengthening healthcare delivery.

“The achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu speak for themselves, and Ondo State has been a direct beneficiary of his commitment to national development,” he said.

The ITF DG urged APC members in the state to remain united and committed to the party’s vision ahead of 2027, saying unity would be critical to sustaining electoral victories and development efforts.

He added that with continued support from party members and the electorate, the APC would keep recording victories across Ondo State and beyond.
