Police Launch Manhunt After Nursing Student Found Dead in Imo Apartment

The Imo State Police Command has mobilized its officers to track down those responsible for the killing of Wendy Achumba, a female nursing student who was found murdered in her apartment in the Umudara area of Obowo Local Government Area.

Command spokesperson Henry Okoye confirmed that upon receiving news of the incident, authorities immediately dispatched a special unit to the scene.

Officers led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) conducted an on-site assessment, after which the victim’s remains were taken to the morgue and a formal investigation was launched to determine what happened and identify the perpetrators.

Okoye also disclosed that one individual has already been taken in for questioning in connection with the case.

He urged students and the general public to stay calm, assuring them that the matter is being handled and that law enforcement is committed to ensuring that everyone involved is held accountable.
