Sanwo-Olu, Gbajabiamila, Obasa Receive Tinubu As President Returns To Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos after concluding a three-nation trip to France, Kenya and Rwanda.

The President’s aircraft landed at about 7:12pm at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.

Tinubu was received by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor, Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and other government officials.

During his visit to France, the President held meetings with global investors where he emphasised transparency, fiscal discipline and the economic reforms introduced by his administration.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu explained the rationale behind the government’s economic policies and reform agenda.

Tinubu also travelled to Nairobi where he participated in the Africa Forward Summit co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

At the summit, the Nigerian leader called for reforms in the global financial system and advocated stronger economic integration across Africa.

He also highlighted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to share the country’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with willing Gulf of Guinea states.

While in Nairobi, Tinubu also met with Madagascar’s president, Michael Randrianirina.

In Kigali, Tinubu joined African leaders and business executives at the Africa CEO Forum.

The President participated in discussions focused on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration, increased investment and cross-border cooperation.

Tinubu also held bilateral talks with Paul Kagame and met with delegations from multinational organisations, including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and Winme Group.

The Presidency said the engagements produced “notable favourable outcomes.”

The President is expected to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections while in Lagos.

The APC primaries are scheduled to commence on Saturday.

Tinubu had earlier urged party members and aspirants to maintain peace and demonstrate sportsmanship throughout the exercise.

He advised participants to conduct themselves in the overall interest of the party and the country.
