Tinubu floors opponent in Barau’s Kano ward, wins APC presidential primary
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election held in Kabo ward, Kabo LGA of Kano state.
The primary election took place on Saturday at the APC secretariat in the ward, which is the home base of Barau Jibrin, the deputy president of the senate.
According to the returning officer, Umar Mohammadu Rabiu, Tinubu defeated Osifo Osayamen Stanley, his only challenger who failed to secure a single vote during the exercise.
Rabiu disclosed that only three out of the 1,007 eligible voters in the ward did not participate in the election, adding that the exercise was conducted peacefully.
Reacting after the exercise, Barau Jibrin, a deputy senate president described the massive turnout of party members as a strong signal ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“With the massive turnout of party members, Insha Allah, the coast is clear for the victory of President Tinubu come January 16, 2027,” he said.
Barau also commended party members for their orderly conduct during the exercise.
Lawal Najume, the chairman of Kabo Local Government Area equally praised the peaceful conduct of the primary and expressed confidence in the APC’s chances in the 2027 elections.
