Tinubu wins APC primary in Gombe with 450,517 votes
President Bola Tinubu secured 450,517 votes in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Gombe State, defeating his co-contestant, Stanley Osifo, who polled zero votes.
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya described the outcome as a clear indication of the state’s unwavering support for Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor, who served as the APC presidential primary collation officer and Tinubu’s coordinator for Gombe State, announced the results after collating votes from the 11 local government areas of the state.
Speaking at the APC collation centre, Inuwa Yahaya said the exercise was peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the confidence party members have in the APC administration.
“As you can see, in my capacity as the APC presidential primary collation officer and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s coordinator for Gombe State, I have successfully collated the results from all the eleven local government areas where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr Stanley Osifo contested for the presidential ticket,” the governor stated.
“Gombe State has a total of 550,516 registered APC members. After collating and summing up votes cast across the eleven local government areas, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured an overwhelming 450,517 votes, while Mr Stanley Osifo recorded zero votes.”
Governor Yahaya said the result demonstrated that APC members in Gombe State remain united and committed to the continuity of the Tinubu administration beyond 2027.
He noted that the overwhelming support recorded during the primary reflected total acceptance of Tinubu’s leadership and developmental policies across the country.
“I am speaking not in my capacity as governor, but as the duly appointed collation officer for the APC presidential primaries in Gombe State. I will proceed to Abuja to officially submit the results to the party’s national secretariat,” he added.
The governor also commended party stakeholders, electoral officials, security agencies, members of the media, and APC supporters for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state.
In his remarks, the Gombe State APC chairman, Mohammed Ndus, described the exercise as historic and a major step toward the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the primary further demonstrated that the APC in Gombe State remains united under the leadership of Governor Yahaya.
He expressed confidence that the endorsement of President Tinubu by party members in the state would translate into electoral victory for the APC in 2027.
Ndus also congratulated party candidates who emerged victorious in the primaries and urged those who lost to support the party’s collective ambition ahead of the general elections.
The collation process was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Umar Gajiram, alongside heads of security agencies, election observers, and members of the media.
