Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has urged residents to throw their weight behind President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing him as deserving of strong support for his commitment to the state and the country.
This was contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Wednesday in Kano.
The governor made the call while presenting the Certificate of Return to newly elected House of Representatives member for Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency, Shu’aibu Rabi’u Nagogo.
Yusuf said the working relationship between the Kano State government and the federal government had yielded tangible results, and commended Tinubu for supporting critical infrastructure and development projects in the state.
He described the President as a leader committed to national unity and progress, and urged political leaders and stakeholders to remain united and strengthen the partnership between Kano and Abuja.
The governor congratulated Nagogo on his electoral victory and expressed confidence that he would deliver effective representation for his constituents at the House of Representatives.
Yusuf also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the federal government to advance policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
