Aid worker shares how a man’s inconsiderate choice resulted in tragic consequences for his wife

An aid worker has warned women to look beyond physical qualities when seeking a spouse. 
Ugama Steve took to Facebook to narrate how a woman was attacked and robbed by one-chance operators after her husband refused to pick her up when she needed him to. 
Narrating the incident, he wrote: “Your wife, the mother of your three children, went to Aba to buy her goods, got to Abakaliki by past 10 pm, and called you to come pick her up from the park, and you refused. You told her to look for keke simply because you have gotten home and you can’t drive out again. You aren’t sick, ooh, they didn’t close your gate ooh, you simply didn’t want to go pick her. 
“Left with no other choice, she got keke, loaded her goods in it and they left the park. Unknown to her, they are one chance keke operators. They ended up robbing her, collected her phone, the cash she had on her, the goods she bought, and pushed her off the keke. You waited and waited and she didn’t come back. You called her phone, but nobody picked up. You dressed up and drove to the same park she begged you to come pick her from, and you refused. Sadly, for you, she wasn’t there. 
“What is even wrong with some of you men? You can’t do the bare minimum for your own wife. How were you so comfortable to ask your wife to use keke and come back home by past 10 pm in a twon that goes to sleep once it is 9pm. 
“What is marriage if you can’t make the simplest of sacrifice for your partner? You are now looking for a way to track down the idiots that robbed her and nearly killed her. This is a woman who is almost singlehandedly taking care of the family through the proceeds of this same goods she went to Aba to buy. 
“For the sake of this woman, I pray they are arrested. Some of us men can do better. Some of you are simply very mean and wicked towards your wives.” 
 

He added: “While looking for a husband, don’t just consider how handsome he is or his family background alone or his blood group and genotype, date him and see the kind of human being that he is. These traits are always there. Don’t marry a heartless man.”
