SOUTH KOREA manager Hong Myung-Bo has reportedly RESIGNED just days after being knocked out of the World Cup.
Hong, 57, saw his side lose to South Africa on Thursday as they crashed out in the group stage.
And according to reports from South Korea, he stepped down on Sunday following mass criticism of the team’s performances.
Furious supporters launched a petition for him to be sacked after the 1-0 defeat saw them miss out on being one of the eight best third-place teams.
The fanbase did not take kindly to the result, nor to the controversial decision to axe captain Son Heung-Min from the starting line-up for their decisive fixture with South Africa.
Neither did the nation’s president, Lee Jae Myung, who slammed the premature exit and appeared to cast doubt on the decision making that led to Hong being appointed to his role.
