President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has claimed that Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi gets angry whenever Nigeria records progress.

Bwala’s remarks were directed at Obi over comments credited to him that he would no longer remove the fuel subsidy if elected president.

Posting on social media, Bwala also referenced separate comments attributed to Obi stating that he would not establish state police if he came to power.

“I don’t know why every time Nigeria makes progress, it angers Peter Obi. Why? It is the same Nigeria he is trying to govern in his wild goose chase.

It might be true to say that the only person he pays attention to is the mad man on Opi-iweka road,” he wrote.

Bwala went on to accuse Obi of consistently abandoning policy positions he had championed ahead of the 2023 elections, noting that the Tinubu administration had since implemented several of those same proposals.

“Before the 2023 elections, he promised to take away the subsidy; we did, and now he is saying he won’t. He said he would make state police; we did, but now he’s saying he won’t.

He said he would bring all the foreign exchange together; we did, and now he is saying he won’t. It looks like he doesn’t have a clear idea of what he intends to do for Nigeria,” he stated.
