The Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Ishaq Hussaini Magaji, on Monday paid an unscheduled visit to the Commission’s Sokoto office as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and deepen compliance with corporate regulations across the country.

Mr Magaji, who arrived in Sokoto and proceeded directly to the CAC office, said the visit was aimed at monitoring ongoing operations, engaging staff members and boosting their morale as the Commission intensifies its renewed drive for compliance.

Speaking during the visit, the Registrar-General reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to delivering its statutory mandate with excellence, professionalism and improved service delivery to Nigerians.

According to him, the surprise inspection formed part of the Commission’s strategy of maintaining close oversight of its state offices to ensure that standards are upheld and that staff remain focused on achieving the agency’s objectives.

“Together, we remain committed to delivering on the Commission’s mandate with excellence and professionalism,” Mr Magaji said while interacting with members of staff.

The visit comes at a time when the CAC has stepped up enforcement of corporate regulations and compliance requirements for registered businesses, companies, incorporated trustees and limited liability partnerships across Nigeria.

Since assuming office, Mr Magaji has championed a series of reforms aimed at modernising the Commission, improving ease of doing business and strengthening the integrity of Nigeria’s corporate registry.

Under his leadership, the CAC has intensified efforts to ensure compliance with beneficial ownership disclosure requirements, post-incorporation obligations and annual returns filing by registered entities.

The Commission has also continued to leverage technology to enhance service delivery, introducing digital platforms that enable businesses to carry out registration and other statutory transactions online.

Observers say the Registrar-General’s direct engagement with staff at state offices reflects his hands-on leadership style and determination to ensure that the Commission’s reform agenda is effectively implemented at all levels.

Staff members at the Sokoto office welcomed the visit, describing it as a morale booster and a demonstration of the management’s commitment to supporting employees in the discharge of their duties.

The CAC, established to regulate the formation and management of companies in Nigeria, plays a critical role in promoting transparency, accountability and investor confidence in the country’s business environment.
