DataPro rating validates BAS Group’s operational strength — CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of BAS Group, Abdulateef Hussein, has stated that the recent investment rating upgrade by DataPro Credit Rating Agency serves as a firm validation of the robust financial and operational infrastructure the conglomerate has built over the past six years.
DataPro, a Securities and Exchange Commission-licensed rating agency, upgraded BAS Group’s Long-Term Investment Rating from BBB- to BBB+. According to the agency, the upgrade reflects three core institutional strengths: a stable revenue profile, the quality and depth of the management team, and a resilient liquidity position capable of navigating challenging macroeconomic environments.
Reacting to the development during ceremonies marking the group’s sixth anniversary, Hussein explained that the upgraded status underscores the trust reposed in the institution by its expanding client base.
“This rating is a reflection of what our team has built over six years and, more importantly, what our clients have trusted us with. DataPro’s assessment validates the infrastructure we have been constructing for permanence. A BBB+ rating in this market, at this moment, means something. We do not take it lightly,” Hussein said.
Founded in 2020, the financial services conglomerate has transitioned into a structurally complete ecosystem operating through six specialised subsidiaries.
The subsidiaries, which include BAS Capital, BAS Wealth, BAS Financial Services, BAS Technologies, ALLY Healthcare, and ALLY Microinsurance, allow clients to deploy capital, structure wealth, access financing, and protect income within a unified network.
As part of the anniversary events, the group also hosted its second Executive Breakfast meeting in Lagos, convening prominent founders, chief executives, and corporate decision-makers to discuss capital deployment, wealth preservation, and portfolio architecture.
The occasion further marked the first anniversary of ALLY, the group’s consumer-facing digital protection platform.
Speaking on the company’s relationship-driven growth model, the Chief Marketing Officer of BAS Group, Chidera Muoka, noted that sustained corporate proximity and client loyalty remain the primary metrics of the group’s long-term success.
